Every musical theatre artist knows the feeling.

Silence before the overture. The green room that turns strangers into family. The cast album you play until you know every breath. And then the run ends, the company scatters, and you are left looking for the next room to belong to.

StageLab was built for that in-between.

We started with a simple frustration. The tools performers actually use live everywhere except in one place made for us. Auditions on one site, reels on another, community in group chats that go quiet by closing night. Emerging artists do extraordinary work and still struggle to be seen. We believed the people who make this art form deserved a home of their own.

So we built one.

Founded by Elisabeth Carpenter, a USC-trained vocalist and performer whose stage credits include Mrs. Lovett, Miss Hannigan, and Audrey, StageLab grew out of a working artist’s wish list. Liz knew firsthand what was missing, because she had been searching for it her whole career.

Today StageLab is a social platform made entirely for musical theatre. A feed where you share your latest work and find your people. Casting and audition tools that connect performers with the rooms they are right for. Live rooms where the community gathers in real time. A Studio that helps you build and block scenes. And real ways for creators to earn from the work they love. (Because passion should be able to pay.)

We are proud to build alongside the people and partners who keep this art form alive, including our friends at Musical Theatre Radio. MTR has spent years giving musical theatre a place on the air. StageLab is here to give the artists behind it a place to connect, create, and grow.
